1. The Horsebridge

This popular design, has a tongue & groove boarded lower panel, with a spindle top. Spindles can be orientated as mullions (with the square spindles set at a 45 degree angle, producing a diamond shaped finish) or square to the face of the gate. The gate shown on the left has been automated. A variation on the design made with seasoned English Oak can be seen in photo No 12 on this page.

This photo shows the mullioned spindle detail on a gate made from Iroko hardwood. It has been treated with 'Sikkens Cetol'.

2a Diagonal Boarded gates, hung for manual opening with a ring latch. Shown above made in Iroko hardwood.

2. 'The Yelverton'

Diagonal tongue and groove boarded gates

All our gates are individually made and, as we do not use a standard pattern, the gradient on the top profile can be varied as required to suit the proportions of the gates.

2b The gates shown above have been automated. All our gates can be made suitable for automation.

3. Vertical tongue and groove boarded gates

Shown on the right and below. These gates can be made to any size, with a flat, concave or convex top. Each gate is individually hand made and therefore, as with all our gates, the gradient of the top profile can be altered to suit the individual setting or the proportions of the gate.

3a 'The Kingsbridge'

The gates shown above, made in Iroko Hardwood, have been made to fit the profile of the existing arch.

3b 'The Torquay' Upright boarded gates. The gates shown above, made in Iroko Hardwood, needed to open outward and the hinges are therefore on the outside of the gates.

The gates shown in the photo to the right show a variation on the top profile and no opening latch as they are automated.

Iroko: This is a durable tropical hardwood which we recommend treating with 'Sikkens Cetol' timber products.

Fitted Post Boxes

All our boarded gates can, if required, be fitted with a post box during manufacture.

4. The Norfolk

This style of boarded gate is only available with a flat top profile. Can be made in seasoned oak, softwood or Iroko. The gates shown here are made in seasoned air dried Oak.

5. English Oak church gate

An English green Oak church style gate is shown on the left. These double gates, shown in green oak, are also attractive standing alone as entrance gates. The close up photo above shows the detail of the mullion spokes, set at a 45 degree angle to the gate.

6. English Oak panelled Gate

These individually designed loose panelled gates are hand made and are only available in planed seasoned air dried locally grown English Oak. Traditional wall panelling is made using the same technique.

8. The Bideford

Pair of Entrance gates made in well seasoned air dried locally grown English Oak. Shown being installed by us.

Pair of seasoned English Oak Entrance Gates. These are a variation on the design shown in photo 1.

9. English Oak garden door.

Ledge and brace cottage door with tongue & groove boards, made with seasoned air dried English Oak and set in a pegged green Oak frame. Available in seasoned or green English Oak or English softwood.

11 Extra wide gates

This photo shows an extra wide pair of softwood gates made to fit a 20ft gap to allow for caravan access. Gates of this width need central ground support to avoid 'sagging'.

12. The bespoke gate shown on the left, made in locally grown, seasoned, air dried English Oak was made to compliment unusual soffit boards

Gate Automation. All our gates are strongly made and heavily braced and are suitable for automation.
