Wooden Windows and Doors
Double glazed Oak or Accoya® Doors and Windows:
We make high quality, double glazed timber windows and doors to order, using the highest prime joinery quality seasoned oak, or Accoya® .
Types of timber:
-Seasoned Prime Joinery quality Oak: The English Oak (quercus Robur) produces an incredibly tough durable timber which possesses a timeless beauty. Our bespoke oak windows and doors will enhance any property, old or new. We use 21st century technology to make our bespoke oak windows and the combination of the aesthetic appeal of seasoned oak, together with modern warm edge spacer bars, energy efficient Planitherm glass technology, and high security multi point locking systems deliver high performing windows which also look great!
-Accoya® wood is a high performance wood. Created from sustainably-sourced wood, Accoya® undergoes a proprietary, acetylation process that permanently modifies the wood to the core. The result is an environmentally friendly solid wood with a durability and dimensional stability that matches or exceeds even the best tropical hardwoods.
Types of Window:
-Traditional Flush Casement Windows: The traditional flush casement window has an un-imposing simplicity and looks great in seasoned oak. We use heavy duty stainless steel butt hinges as standard, and locking fasteners and casement stays. The design of the window profile and the quality of the modern glass and seals means that these traditional windows look good in period properties and contemporary homes and deliver great energy efficiency.
- Stormproof Windows: Stormproof windows are a modern variation of the flush casement window and allow the opening window to slightly overlap when closed to ensure a totally weathertight fit. These windows are fitted with friction hinges and as espag locking system.
- Heritage Traditional Flush Casement Windows: The profile and the moulding of these double glazed windows was designed to suit the houses and farmhouses of the Mount Edgecumbe Estate properties which are numerous throughout West Devon and East Cornwall, but their attractive traditional profile would be suitable in many situations in which heritage conservation grade windows are required.
