This green oak framed garage was bespoke made to suit the sloped ground and included a log store with boiler room on one end. The locally grown Sweet Chestnut cladding blends beautifully with the slate roof and local stone wall
Douglas Fir post and beam Dartmoor barn
This post and beam frame was made to protect this ancient stone walled barn and prevent further degredation of the original structure. It also allows for the old barn to be re-used as a functional barn. The timber frame needed to be completely free-standing inside the old walls, and have massively deep eaves to cover and protect the original structure, whilst also being able to withstand the ferocious Dartmoor weather! The Douglas Fir timber was grown within a mile of our workshop and sawmill in West Devon, and the timber frame was raised on the high moors of Dartmoor National Park, about 11 miles from us.

Traditional style timber framed agricultural barn which is equally popular used as a garage or a workshop. The structural timber frame was made from green oak, and the studwork and collared trusses were softwood. The cladding is locally grown untreated Douglas Fir.

This timber framed barn was raised about 1 mile from our workshop. It was made from Sweet Chestnut thinned from the customer’s land, and some sustainably grown Douglas Fir from a commercial woodlands 1 mile in the other direction, all sawmilled in our yard in the Tamar Valley.
